My conversation with Grae

Grae woke up the other morning and right as we were about to walk out the door he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He noticed a small scratch right above his right eye. He all of a sudden said it hurt...only after seeing it of course. :) We loaded up in the car and as I buckled him in I told him to just leave it alone and it would get better really soon. I got in the front seat and off we went. A few minuts went by and Grae was really quiet. He then said, I am going to pray about it. I said about what? (I had already moved on at this point) He said, about my scratch! I am going to pray and God will make it better. That is what you do mom...you pray and God makes things better. Having had a rough week I thought God's way of speaking to me that morning was pretty clever. I agreed with Grae and told him that he was right. We should always pray when we are hurting and when we are happy. It is good for God to know how we are feeling. He then said that his friend Merrit in his class was hurt too and that we need to pray for him. I said we can do that. Grae ended our profound conversation with this...
"Mom, do you think God gots enough band-aids for when everyone is hurting?"
What a sweet little heart he has.
